Bush clearing is an essential step before starting a new crop or plantation. It is not only done to give a certain cachet to a garden but also to ensure the neighborhood’s safety.
Reasons for Bush Clearing
Brush clearing is understood to mean operations whose objective is to reduce the intensity and limit the spread of fires by reducing plant fuels. It helps to ensure a break in the continuity of the plant by pruning and eliminating the risk of fires.
The presence of bush is a danger for the neighborhood. Every owner must then clear his land to decrease the risks of fire propagation. The work must be done within a radius of 50 m around a construction. In a risk zone, i.e. near a scrubland or a forest, this obligation extends to 200 m. Therefore, a 5 m clearance on each side must be cleared for the access road. In the urban zone, the entire property must be cleared of bush.
Since clearing bush is required by law in many countries, failure to do so will result in a fine. However, the municipality can issue an injunction to carry out the work within a short period. It should be noted that the owner is liable in case of fire.
The Realization of Brush Clearing
To carry out an effective bush clearing, there are 3 types of treatment:
Manual treatment:
Some bush clearing work can be done manually and by oneself. In this case, you must :
– wear walking shoes, overalls, and gloves;
– use a string trimmer to mow lawns, a grass trimmer to remove bush and scrub, a chainsaw to prune trees, and a hedge trimmer to maintain conifers.
Mechanical treatment:
This is the quickest way because the work is done by forestry equipment such as a mulcher, tractor, etc. It is strongly recommended to clear dense vegetation or land that extends over a large area.
To ensure that the work is done in the best conditions, it is necessary to call on a specialized company. Indeed, people from there are well placed to know all the regulations in accomplishing the work. In addition, they have a qualified team and the necessary equipment to carry out all the job safely.
Chemical treatment:
This technique will enable you to aerate and freshen up your green spaces. The best time to do it is in spring. This is when plants absorb a lot of water and chemicals. For this, a sprayer allows the spread of the chemical products on the weeds. And since the work consists of spreading chemicals, do not forget to wear a mask, coveralls, and gloves.
